Asus finally officially announces its “fashion-friendly” Eee PC S101. The S101 is a high-end Eee PC netbook. It packs an Intel Atom processor, 1GB of DDR2 RAM, 16GB/32GB/64GB SSD for storage, WiFi 802.11n, Bluetooth 2.0, and a 10.2-inch LED-backlit display. You can also find a 4-in-1 card reader, a 0.3 Megapixel camera and a multi-touch touchpad.

The fashionable netbook comes with built-in speakers and digital array microphone. It is available in Brown, Champagne and Graphite. It runs either Windows XP Home or Linux OS. The Eee PC has the Super Hybrid Engine (SHE) that can greatly enhance its energy efficiency.

Asus is preparing its S101 mini laptop, which is actually a high-end Eee PC with 32GB or 40GB/64GB SSD. The new S101 will not have Eee branding. It will be equipped with Atom processor, 10-inch LCD screen, and 32GB or 40/64GB SSD. S101 is an ultra slim laptop that is only 16-21mm thick.

The reason for dropping Eee branding is that the new S101 will be more expensive. The 32GB SSD version will cost $699 while the 40GB/64GB version will be priced at $899.
